Meet the Staff
Beth
Summer-Strait was named the Executive Director/CEO
of the P.A.C.E. Center in 2007.
She had previously served in that same capacity for Mental
Health America of the Piedmont when it was a separate agency.
Beth has more than fifteen years experience in the behavioral
health field. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from Lander
University and a Master's Degree from the University of
South Carolina. Beth was named a "Woman of Achievement"
in 2006 by the Business and Professional Women's Club and
was presented the South Carolina Mental Health America "Public
Policy Award" for her advocacy work on behalf of individuals
with mental illness. Beth was recently awarded The Order
of the Palmetto, South Carolinas highest civilian
honor, for her work in behavioral health.
Trez Clarke, Program Director, is a graduate
of Lander University and holds certifications from Erskine
Seminary. She is a certified QPR Suicide Prevention Instructor
and Certified Group Facilitator for the Recovery for Life
program. Trez conducts education seminars, prepares health
fair materials, runs Recovery for Life groups, and represents
the agency at many public speaking events.
Dr. Roger Rhoades, Senior Therapist, holds
a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communication from Illinois
State University, a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family
Therapy from New Orleans Baptist Seminary and a Doctorate
Degree in Counseling from Graduate Theological Foundation.
Dr. Rhodes is a well-known public speaker, author, and trainer
with appearances on such national talk shows as "Oprah"
and "Montel Williams". Dr. Rhodes leads
the P.A.C.E. Center's Domestic
Batterer's Groups as well as provides individual and marriage
counseling. Roger is now the resident therapist on Your
Carolina each month on WSPA TV 7 and is a regular
co-host on the new WSPA TV series Scene on 7
which airs each night at 7:30 PM. Look for Roger each Monday
and Friday.
Heather Ravnan, Program Therapist, holds
a Bachelor's Degree from Tulane University and a Master
of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina.
Heather is a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical
Practice. She works in our Domestic Batterer's program and
also offers a weekly "open session" grief support
group at the agency.
Amy Richards, Crime Victim Survivors
Therapist, holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology
from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg and a
Master of Social Work degree from the University of South
Carolina. Amy has been a licensed social worker since 2003.
She has experience working with children and adults. She
recently competed training to become a Certified Victim
Service Provider. This new state certification ensures that
she has met all requirements to serve crime victims.
Sharon Fox is the agency's office manager.
Sharon holds certifications from Spartanburg Technical College
and isothermal Community College.
Megan Wall is the agency bookkeeper and
receptionist.
