CROSSROADS
Crossroads is a weekly psycho-social recreational group
that is a joint venture of the P.A.C.E. Center and the Spartanburg
Area Mental Health Center. Clients from the Mental Health
Center come to Crossroads each week for social interaction,
education, life skills and fun.
The group has enjoyed such special treats as bowling (with
New Day Clubhouse members), making and flying model airplanes,
cooking, and having special guests provide music and art
demonstrations.
The P.A.C.E. Center is most grateful to the Unitarian Universalist
Church for providing free meeting space for the program.
Crossroads is a non-religious program and no religious materials
or presentations are allowed.
Crossroads is directed by Karen McKenzie, who has been
with the program since 2007 and puts a tremendous amount
of energy, enthusiasm, and dedication into her work.
Funding for Crossroads is provided by the P.A.C.E. Center
and a grant from the Department of Mental Health. Clients
go through an application process to join Crossroads and
volunteers are always welcome.
